Community Medical Center in Falls City in partnership with Falls City Public Schools, Falls City Sacred Heart School and Humboldt – Table Rock – Steinauer School is presenting a concussion awareness seminar Wednesday evening at 6 p-m.
The seminar will be held at the Falls City High School Auditorium. The keynote speaker will be Rusty McKune, University of Nebraska at Omaha, Head Athletic Trainer. The program is free and open to the public.
The seminar will help you understand the signs and symptoms of a concussion. What to do whey you think your player or child has a concussion. Will outline the responsibilities of Coaches, Teachers and Parents. Information on the new concussion law, LB260 will also be reviewed.
Sports are the second leading cause of traumatic brain injury and individuals between the ages of 15 and 24. The program is also important for non-school sanctioned sports and activities.
