A former Netawaka couple have been convicted of child molestation charges.
Jackson County Attorney Shawna Miller says 39-year-old Leeann Garcia and 51-year-old Larry Norwood were convicted in separate jury trials this month for their roles in the sexual abuse perpetrated on two young girls, ages 11 and 13, who lived in their homes.
A Jackson County jury found Norwood guilty Thursday of three counts of rape and four counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child after deliberating about five hours.
A jury found Garcia guilty May 3rd of one count of aiding and abetting aggravated indecent liberties with a child.
Miller says the crimes occurred between December 1st, 2008 and July 15th, 2009.
Sentencing is scheduled for June 29th.
Miller says she will be asking for the maximum sentence of 25 years to life.
