The City of Humboldt will pay significantly less to have the cemetery mowed this year than last year. The city council approved a contract with Precision Lawn Care of Auburn on Tuesday to mow the cemetery at a cost of $480 per mowing.
Precision Lawn Care was the low bidder of three bids that were submitted. The rate is approximately 50-percent less than last year’s rate.
It won’t cost any more to use the Humboldt Swimming Pool this summer, after the council set rates for the season Tuesday night.
A season pass for a family of four is $70 for Humboldt residents and $75 for non-residents, with a five-dollar charge for an additional child. Individual adult passes are $40 for residents and $45 for non-residents. An individual child pass is $35 for residents and $40 for non-residents. Individual day passes are three dollars, and $25 punch cards good for 10 admissions are also available. The Humboldt council also approved a 10-percent senior discount, for those over age 50.
Hours for the Humboldt pool will also remain the same as last year. The pool opens on Memorial Day.
In other business Tuesday, the council authorized McNealy Construction to make concrete repairs at the intersection 10th and Nemaha Streets.
