A 19-year-old Atchison man could face prison after pleading guilty to felony theft Friday in Atchison County Court.
David Pickens entered the plea as part of an agreement in which a count of burglary was dismissed.
He was arrested on April 12th by Atchison Police for allegedly violating his probation.
Pickens was given the charge while in jail for possessing property that he purchased, knowing that it was stolen, stemming from a burglary of a residence on Q Street on March 15th.
His probation that suspended an 11 month prison sentence on felony drug charges last fall could also be revoked.
He could face five to 17 months in prison on the new charge.
Pickens is subject to a special rule, so Atchison County Judge Martin Asher denied a PR bond request; however, his 15 thousand dollar bond was reduced to five.
Sentencing is scheduled for June 4th.
