Chance of Frost Next Week
There could be bad news ahead for those who jumped the gun and planted gardens or even fields. Mother Nature could be planning a not so funny April fool’s prank. USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey is watching weather models closely. ( play audio :07 seconds )

This could be a case of history repeating itself. Spring of 2007 was also very mild and many farmers rushed to their fields to plant early. However in April temperatures plunged. ( play audio :06 seconds )
In Nebraska the "safe date from frost" varies from May 9th in Omaha to the 23rd in North Platte.
