Jefferson Co May See Merger of Offices
04/04/2012

Two offices within the Jefferson County Courthouse may see a merger in the future.

County Attorney Jason Belveal gave a recommendation to commissioners Monday that the County Attorney and County Counselor offices merge in the light of the possible upcoming retirement of current counselors of Jan and Mike Hayes.

Belveal also discussed his budget for this year and next year and says he will be using his reserve fund to supplement his 2012 operating budget.

The board also accepted the low bid of 330 dollars for James Schrick to mow all county grounds for the 2012 season.

Commissioners also overturned the planning and zoning administrator’s decision to deny an agricultural lot split for a property owned by Michael and Teresa Ray.
