Atchison City Commissioners unanimously re-elect Mayor Allen Reavis for another year at Monday’s Atchison City Commission meeting.
Commissioner also re-elected Vice-mayor David Butler.
The commission also appointed Larry Purcell to serve on the Project Concern Board, Rita Hartman on the Chamber of Commerce board and Tourism board, Jack Bower to the MoKan and Budget and Audit boards, Allen Reavis to the MoKan board, and David Butler to the Conference Center board.
Commissioners also unanimously passed an ordinance requiring various homes that qualify for downspout disconnection to replace their systems under the EPA combined sewer overflow mandate.
The passage is contingent on a resolution that will be brought on to a future commission meeting where the city may provide a partial re-imbursement to affected homeowners.

Commissioners also passed the professional services proposal for plan review and inspections with the Bartlett Grain elevator project four to one with commissioner Hartman voting nay.
Hartman says she was approached by four farmers that requested the commission to waive the 50 thousand dollar fee in the wake of the tragedy that occurred last fall with the fatal grain elevator explosion.
She says the farmers said the community should be happy Bartlett wanted to rebuild in the wake of the tragedy and that the community should be willing to help them out in any way they can.
