Livestock producers will be able to learn about changes in nutrient management regulations at a meeting in Beatrice next week. The meeting will be held Monday, beginning at 6:30 p.m., at the Extension Office Meeting Room on the Fairgrounds in Beatrice.
The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality will present information for area livestock producers. Gage County Extension Educator Paul Hay says operations with 300 or more cattle on feed, 750 or more hogs on feed, or other like-sized operations should plan to have someone attend.
Monday’s meeting is one of the regional meetings being held across Nebraska to give livestock producers information about expanded nutrient management regulations. The mandatory regulations impact all livestock producers that are permitted by the Department of Environmental Quality.
No pre-registration is required to attend the meeting, and a free meal will be served.
Another meeting is planned next Wednesday at the Belvidere Community Center in Belvidere, Nebraska.
For more information, contact Paul Hay at 402-223-1384.
