KS Caucus Set For Saturday
03/06/2012

Kansas Governor Sam Brownback is lending his voice to a public service message, attempting to bring attention to this Saturday's Republican Caucus in Kansas(Play Audio :16 seconds)
Essentially, a Caucus is an election run by volunteers and paid for with contributions.
That's what separates it from a primary, which is paid through taxpayer dollars.
Any registered Kansas Republican is able to take part in the Saturday Caucus, with locations set up in local counties.
Doors, at all sites, are scheduled to open at 9:30, with photo identification needed to vote.  Voting will be allowed up to 1:00; and once the Caucus closes, votes will be sent to the Republican Party headquarters, in Topeka, for the final results.
The Brown County GOP Caucus will be held at the Fisher Center in Hiawatha.
Any registered 2nd Congressional District Republican may take part.
Meanwhile, the Nemaha County Republican Party will hold their Caucus at the Nemaha County Community Building on Community Drive in Seneca.
The Caucus for Atchison, Jackson and Doniphan Counties will be jointly held at the Blue Building in Effingham.
Republican Presidential hopefuls Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich will all be campaigning in Kansas just prior to Saturday's Caucus.
Kansas has 40 delegates, which is 15 delegates higher than other states of equal size.
