Brown County resident Duke Koerperich informed the Brown County Commission and Hiawatha City Commission Monday that he’s purchasing the ambulance service from long-time owners/operators Jim and Lana Reigle of Hiawatha and asked for their continued support. Koerperich currently serves as director of the Brown County Rescue Squad and previously worked as a deputy with the Brown County Sheriff’s Department.
Koerperich says he plans to change the name of the ambulance service Town and Country EMS.
He says Dustin Williams of Hiawatha, who is also a paramedic, will service as the assistant service director.
Reigle says he and his wife plan to stay in Hiawatha and will be helping Koerperich with the transition.
