(MSC News) Voters went to the polls Tuesday to decide city and school board races. Voters in Jackson County also faced special questions.

Elected to position 5 on the USD 415 Board of Education was Phil Roberts. He defeated Orveda Anderson by a 198-vote margin.

Katelyn Ross won re-election to position 6 on the USD 430 Board of Education, defeating challenger Sarah Stirton by a 97-vote margin

Elected Powhattan mayor was James Hazlett II

Elected to the Powhattan City Council were Tracy Sharp, Lyle Chadwell, Sharon Willey, Luke Pollock and Elizabeth Pollock

The Brown County Clerk's Office reported a 14 percent voter turnout

Elected to the Doniphan West USD 111 Board of Education were Jerry Boos, Kevin Thompson and Michelle Meyer

Elected to the Riverside USD 114 Board of Education were Zach Euler, Justin Wilson and Christopher Hewins

Elected to the Elwood City Council were Matthew McFarland, and Nathan Daniels

Elected to the Highland City Council were Bryan Rhodd, Terry Gibson and Chris Waggoner

Elected White Cloud Mayor in a 3-way race was Kim Tilton

The Doniphan County Clerk's Office reported a 17 percent voter turnout

Voters approved a one-quarter percent countywide retailers sales tax to support the Holton Community Hospital by a 565 vote margin, with 1413 votes cast in favor to 848 against.

Voters in Jackson Heights USD 335 approved a $5 million bond issue to fund additions at each of the district's two schools.

Elected to three open positions on the Holton USD 336 Board were Trent Tanking, Ryan Phillips and Adam Luthi

Elected to position three on the USD 335 Board of Education was Mitch Bagby. Bagby defeated Daniel Shupe by a vote of 298 to 275 ( includes Jackson and Nemaha Co results)

Jacee Corby was elected to the 1st Ward Seneca City Council seat, defeating incumbent Joe Schmelzle by a vote of 40 to 25

Elected to three open seats on the Centralia City Council were JB Holland, Alan Reinecke and Madison Voet

Voters in Marshall County by a 71-percent vote margin approved eliminating the current food sales requirement for establishments that sell liquor by the drink.
