The third in a series of Tailgate Talks is scheduled for August 21, 2018 for the Meadowlark Extension District. The focus for the third talk, will be water and fencing, two of the most limiting factors in grazing animals. The event will be held at the Charles and Paul Kennedy farms located in the western part of Jackson County, hosted by Luke Kennedy.
Will Boyer, KSU Water Quality Specialist will discuss livestock water systems and the many options that are available, besides a stock pond. Will works out of Manhattan Kansas and covers 17 counties within the Northeast Kansas watersheds.
Rod Schaub is the Frontier District, Livestock agent. Rod is a founding member of the Eastern Kansas Grazing school committee. Rod is also does rotational grazing on his own land and has an arsenal of the latest fencing tools and gadget to show producers.
The evening begins at 5:30 pm with a light meal, sponsored by the Jackson County Conservation District.
