(KAIR)--Guilty.
That’s the plea from one of the three teens charged in connection with a carjacking report that occurred earlier this summer in Atchison.
17-year-old Justin Arbee entered his plea in Atchison County District Court Monday after waiving his right to a preliminary hearing.
The teen pled guilty to one count of theft.
His sentencing is set for Dec. 5.
Arbee was released into his parents’ custody with instructions to only leave his home for school and medical emergencies and to never be on the street unaccompanied by one of his parents until after sentencing.
The theft charge follows a July 11 arrest for Arbee following an investigation by the Atchison Police Department.
Police Chief Mike Wilson told MSC News the victim was approached in the area of 4th and Main by three subjects who requested to use her phone.
Then then asked for a ride and during that time, displayed a stun gun in the vehicle. They then forced the victim out of the car and left in the vehicle.
Police did locate the vehicle parked in a residential neighborhood in Kansas City.
