(KNZA)--The Jackson County Commission will hold a public hearing Monday to consider a Community Development Block Grant application on behalf of Kanza Mental Health and Guidance Center.
The Hiawatha-based agency plans to seek a $400,000 grant through the Kansas Department of Commerce for renovation of the Moser Building located at 510 Kansas Avenue in Holton, which KANZA purchased last year.
The total estimated project cost is placed at more than $900,000, with KANZA providing a half-million dollars for the project.
KANZA CEO David Elsbury says renovation of the old hospital building will allow them to hold all of their services from two different locations at one site. He says it will give the agency space to continue to add staff and expand their services in Jackson County to help residents in the county.
The hearing will take place Monday morning at 9:00 in the Commissioner’s room at the Jackson County courthouse.
