The aftermath of the weekend wreck that sent two to the hospital and one extracted from her vehicle.
(KAIR)--A two-vehicle collision over the weekend in Atchison County sent two—including a 12-year-old—to the hospital.
Atchison County Sheriff Jack Laurie said it was about 9:45 Sunday morning when Cummings residents Robert Joseph Brader and his 12-year-old passenger Grace Brader were traveling east on 254h Road when Brader failed to stop at the intersection of 254h Road and US 59 Highway.
At the same time, Colette Mary Wallisch, of Effingham, was traveling north on US 59 Highway. Laurie said both vehicles collided at the intersection.
After the wreck, he said Wallisch had to be extricated from her vehicle by Atchison County Rescue.
Both Wallisch, who complained of upper chest pain, and Grace Brader, who suffered a laceration on her face and leg pain, were taken to the Atchison County Hospital.
Brader was issued a notice to appear in court for failing to stop at the stop sign as well as a citation for failure to yield.
