(KAIR)--A rural Atchison County fire devastates a garage, and causes the loss of vehicles, and equipment, housed inside, and around, the structure.
Atchison County Sheriff Jack Laurie says his office joined the Shannon Township Fire Department in responding to the residence, located at 18606 278th Road, around 12:40 Thursday morning.
Laurie says the garage is considered a complete loss, along with a 2008 Cadillac CTS, a 2012 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and a Club Cadet riding lawn mower, along with other items, including power tools and construction supplies.
The residence, which apparently incurred no damage, is owned and occupied by 40-year-old Christopher Hess.
Laurie says the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
No injuries are reported.
