(KAIR)--A longtime Atchison teacher, and businessman, has died.
Dan Jackson was 78-years-old at the time of his death Wednesday.
According to his obituary from the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, in Atchison, Jackson began his teaching career in Eureka, Kansas, and began teaching High School English at Atchison's Maur Hill-Mount Academy in 1993. He ended his decade in the Catholic school's classroom in 2003 when he began teaching English for Atchison's USD 409, wrapping up his time with the public schools in 2007.
During his teaching career, Jackson assisted with forensics, debate and theater.
Outside of the classroom, Jackson was a businessman, noted as a founder and co-owner of Deware Enterprises, owning and operating apartment and home rental units with David Deware.
Jackson will be remembered during memorial services Sunday afternoon at 3:00 at the First Baptist Church, in Atchison.
