(KLZA)-- A Lincoln Correctional Center inmate assaulted a staff member this past Sunday evening.
According to a release from the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services the inmate threatened to physically harm a staff member at about 6:30. In response two other staff members were restraining the inmate who then became combative and was able to place his arms around the staff members neck.
The other staff members were able to restrain the inmate and escort him from the unit. One staff member sought treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
A criminal investigation will be conducted with results forwarded to the County Attorney.
The names of those involved will not be released.
