(KNZA)--Four people were killed, including three students from the Silver Lake School District, in a two-vehicle wreck on U.S. 24 Highway east of Silver Lake Thursday morning.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says a car driven by 17-year-old high school senior Devin Greeve was westbound when the vehicle crossed the center line and was struck in the passenger side by an eastbound car driven by 47-year-old Rossville resident Lance Lenard.
Greeve and two passengers in his vehicle, 11-year-old 6th grader Gaby Greeve and 14-year-old freshman Tyler Crouse were killed. The Patrol says all three were from Topeka.
Lenard, who served as head coach of the Northeast Kansas Track Club, also died in the collision. A passenger in his vehicle, his 13-year-old son, Kade, was transported to a Topeka hospital where he was reported in stable condition.
The wreck was reported shortly before 7:30.
