(KAIR)--A fight involving three inmates at the Atchison County Jail leads to additional charges for two and sends one to the hospital.
Atchison County Sheriff Jack Laurie says it happened Sunday, with Brandon Mottin suffering a number of injuries as the result of the altercation.
Joshua Sharp and DeAngelo Dobbs both face charges of aggravated battery in connection with the incident.
Laurie says the case is being forwarded to the Atchison County Attorney's Office for a review and the possible filing of formal charges.
Mottin, who suffered a broken nose and a fractured clavicle, along with cuts and bruises, was taken to the Atchison Hospital for treatment.
The 29-year-old Mottin was booked into the jail just hours prior to the altercation, arrested by Atchison Police in connection with the theft of a controlled substance and a cell phone. Sharp and Dobbs were inmates in the jail well before Mottin's arrival.
Laurie says the motive for the alleged attack remains unclear.
