Local Law Enforcement Hosts Community Event
08/03/2016

(KLZA)--A successful first “National Night Out,” in Falls City.

That word from Falls City Police Officer Zach Ractliffe.

The event is organized by local law enforcement agencies to help improve their community.

“National Night Out wants you to pick a theme, something to change over a year” Ractliffe said.

Since it’s our first one, we thought a thing to help fix would be reporting crime, how to call police and 911 and how to talk to the dispatcher when in an emergency situation, he said.

Participating agencies included: Falls City Police, Falls City Ambulance and Fire Departments and the Rural Falls City Fire Department. Other agencies involved were Sac and Fox and Iowa Tribe Police Departments as well as railroad police from Union Pacific and BNSF and the Nebraska State Patrol.

Along with informative demonstrations, event goers enjoyed free dinner and open swimming at the Falls City Aquatic Park.
