(KAIR)--All contested Atchison County races for the approaching primary election were represented during a forum, held in Atchison, Tuesday night.
The Commission room at Atchison City Hall was filled with interested voters as the candidates fielded pre-submitted questions, asked by moderator Steve Johnson, the Director of Marketing and Communications at Benedictine College.
The forum can be viewed by visiting the Atchison Area Chamber of Commerce's Facebook page. It will also be rebroadcast on local cable access channel 17 Wednesday at noon, Thursday evening at 6:00, Friday morning at 10:00, Saturday morning at 11:00 and the evening of August 1st at 7:00.
The forum was held in advance of the August 2nd primary election, with all of the challenged Atchison County races involving Republican candidates.
That includes the race for the Atchison County Treasurer's Office, with incumbent Sheila Bilderback, challenged by Connie Ellerman.
Seeking the Republican nod for Atchison County Clerk is Josh Wheeler and Michelle Phillips. Both are looking to replace long time Clerk Pauline Lee, who did not seek re-election.
Eric Noll is trying to retain the 2nd District Atchison County Commission seat he was appointed to, challenged in his attempt by Dan Schletzbaum.
In the race for 3rd District County Commissioner, incumbent Henry “Bill” Pohl is challenged by current Atchison City Commissioner Dr. Allen Reavis. The winner of that race will face off against Democrat Tom Mangimelli in November's general election.
