(KAIR)--An Atchison man, planning to purchase a firearm, changes his mind, and that leads the would be seller to rob him at gunpoint.
That's the allegation made by Atchison Police, with the search for the suspect continuing.
Police Chief Mike Wilson says it happened Tuesday evening, around 5:00, when the interested buyer met with the seller, identified as a Kansas City, Missouri man. "He showed the victim the firearm," Wilson tells MSC News. "The victim decided he was not going to purchase [the gun and] as a result, the person that had the gun to sell pointed the gun at him, threatened him, and then took an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim, and then fled the area."
Wilson says the alleged crime happened at a residence in the 500 Block of Y Street.
According to Wilson, the 25-year-old victim and the suspect knew each other prior to the incident.
The investigation is continuing.
