(KNZA)--The Prairie Hills USD 113 Board of Education this week accepted two donations totaling more than $16,000 when they met for their first meeting of the new fiscal year.
Accepted was a donation of $15,000 from Kent and Donna Saylor to support girls athletics.
Also accepted was a more than $1,100 gift from the Flossie Wertenberger family for a slide-in track record board at the Sabetha High School.
Officers were elected for the 2016-17 school year. Ed Reznicek was re-elected board president and Kathy Lippert was elected vice-president.
Contracts were approved with Briana Evans as Sabetha High School and Wetmore High School guidance counselor and Aaron Frey as Sabetha High School social studies teacher and head baseball coach. Also approved was a contract with Rachel Deters as Axtell secretary.
