(KLZA)-- Richardson County Commissioners approved a two-percent pay increase for several road and Bridge Department employees, retroactive to July 1, when they met on July 5th.
Receiving the pay increases will be the foremen and the administrative assistant. Other employees in the department are covered by the union contract.
In other business, board members conducted the Quarterly Jail Inspection and found the current jail in good order.
Joe Buckminster and Sheriff Don Pounds met with the Commissioners to discuss the installation of the phone system at the Jail / Law Enforcement Center and the plans for updating the phone system in the Courthouse at a later date.
Plans were also reviewed for the installation of surveillance cameras at the Courthouse. Buckminster is researching ideas for the project.
Veterans Service Office Mona Godemann met with Commissioners, regarding the annual appointment to the Veterans Service Committee. She said the local organizations had not responded to the request for recommendations to fill the vacancy. She expects she will have recommendations by the end of July.
