(KAIR)--Six firearms are on the street after a theft was reported Sunday in Atchison.
“We had a victim that reported six firearms taken from a garage where forced entry was made in the 700 block of S,” said Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson.
He says Francis Wiltz, of Atchison, also reported a theft from a vehicle parked by the garage in addition to the missing guns.
No one is in custody following the theft, but the investigation is ongoing.
And Atchison police are also investigating damage to vehicles incurred from a bb gun.
“We have four vehicles that were damaged in three locations in the early morning hours of Friday morning,” Wilson said. “Damage to vehicles in the 1100 block of Hickory, the 100 block of N 15th and the 1600 block of Commercial.
Wilson says they believe the cases are connected but can’t find a motive at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
If you have any information in either cases, Wilson asks you to contact the police department immediately.
