(KNZA)--A single-vehicle wreck on K-62 Highway in Jackson County Monday morning sent a Topeka teenager to the hospital.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 16-year-old Joshua Cott was northbound, just south of Soldier, when the driver’s side rear wheel on his pickup truck detached from the vehicle. The pickup veered into the ditch on the east side of the road.
Cott was transported to Topeka’s Stormont-Vail hospital with unspecified injuries.
Two passengers, 19-year-old Scott Aubert and 16-year-old Trisha Evans, both of Topeka, received possible injuries but the Patrol report doesn’t indicate they were transported to a hospital.
The Patrol says none of occupants were wearing seatbelts.
The wreck was reported shortly before 9:20.
