(KAIR)--Guilty for the murder of his grandparents.
That's the plea entered by 16-year-old Joseph Johnson during a hearing Monday afternoon in a Buchanan County courtroom.
Johnson was charged in the July shooting deaths of James and Beverly Johnson at their home, four miles east of Saint Joseph.
KQ2-TV reports they were shot in the head, but also strangled.
Johnson was originally charged as a juvenile, but a judge later ordered that he be tried as an adult due to the serious nature of the crime.
Johnson is scheduled to be sentenced in March on two counts of second-degree murder.
