Atchison Wreck Sends One To Hospital
12/08/2015

(KAIR)--A two vehicle, late Monday morning Atchison crash, sent one to the hospital.

Atchison Police Lieutenant Tim Stout says it happened around 11:20, at the intersection of 10th and Kansas Avenue, when vehicles driven by Monte Minard and Luke Crawford collided. “Officers determined that a vehicle driven by Minard was headed south on 10th Street when it failed to stop at the stop sign,” Stout tells MSC News. “This in turn caused the vehicle driven by Crawford, headed west on Kansas Avenue, to strike Minard's vehicle.”

Crawford was transported from the scene to the Atchison Hospital for the treatment of possible injuries.

Minard was not hurt.

This is NOT the whole story!!! It would be nice if you had the other side of the story. Minard DID NOT fail to stop at the stop sign, he yielded before crossing 10th and Kansas Ave., while he was in line with a funeral per-session. No police vehicles where blocking the street and there were other cars stopped for the funeral per-session. Crawford was clearly speeding, otherwise he would have noticed cars going through the intersection, with blinking lights, and other cars stopped. Its very questionable why he was taken to the hospital, because he was the first one out of either cars taking pictures of the two vehicles that collided! Plus the medics never once checked on anybody from Minards vehicle to actually make sure there were no injuries!!!
