(NRN)-- Many of us are already making plans for November 26th, Thanksgiving Day. This is also a busy time for the U-S Agriculture Department's Meat and Poultry Hotline.
Food Safety Expert Tina Hanes has manned the phone for many years now and says their phones started ringing last week.
She says the number one question is how big of a turkey should I buy. The recommendation is to figure about a pound of turkey per person, but if you want leftovers, then buy extra.
Hanes says the number to call if you have questions about turkey or other food safety issues is 1-888-674-6854.
