(KAIR)--An arrest has been made in connection with a social media threat that placed Atchison's Benedictine College on lockdown.

Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson says 18-year-old Colleen Carey, a freshman at the college, was taken into custody just after 5:00 Wednesday morning. She was booked into the Atchison County Jail on a charge of aggravated criminal threat.

The arrest follows the lockdown of the college, and an increase in security, after a written threat was posted on the the social media sight Yik Yak Tuesday night.

The apparent threat stated RIP to all benedictine students. I'm so sorry for what I'm about to do.
