(KNZA)--A County Club, Missouri man convicted of a felony sex offense in Brown County has been sentenced to more than 2 ½ years in prison.
20-year-old Russell Dafford was sentenced Monday in Brown County District Court to 32 months in prison on a charge of aggravated sexual battery.
Dafford will also be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison followed by lifetime post-release supervision.
Dafford pleaded “ no contest” to the charge in October as part of a plea deal, canceling a jury trial that had been set in the case. He had originally been charged with aggravated criminal sodomy.
Dafford was arrested in early January following an investigation by the Hiawatha Police Department.
