(MSC News)--A burn ban has been issued for Doniphan County. Word of the issuance came Saturday morning in a text message alert. The county wide burn ban will remain in place until further notice.
The ban comes as the National Weather Service issues a hazardous weather outlook calling for elevated fire weather concerns. That's based on the expectation of strong, southerly winds and dry humidity values.
Meanwhile, a burn ban issued Thursday for Atchison County also remains in place.
Officials with the County Emergency Management Department say it will remain in place until further notice.
