All Faiths Counseling Center Welcomes New Director
11/14/2015

(KAIR)--The All Faith Counseling Center in Atchison has welcomed a new Director to the organization.

Nebraska native Dan Rasmussen was hired last month for the position. He will also take on a counseling role as well. He says he is excited for the opportunity, and already has some ideas for the center. “My plans are to first, take on substance abuse licensure  that will enable the facility to take on any client that has any substance abuse or addiction issues, and in order for that to happen, the agency has to be state licensed by the Kansas Behavioral Health Regulatory Board. Once that happens, we will be able to work with  probation clients, or correction clients, anybody that has an addiction issue or substance abuse problem.”

Rasmussen also has plans to give back to the Atchison community. He says that could include “maybe doing some hours at different areas, maybe the college...giving some counseling back to the community by setting up shop at another agency in which we could provide services to walk in clients or any clients that might need services that can't make it to All Faiths Counseling Center.”

Rasmussen is taking over the Director duties from Cindy Whitmer, who left earlier this year to take a similar job out of state.
