Atchison Dog Park Tags Now Available
11/13/2015

(KAIR)--Membership tags for the soon to be opened dog park in Atchison are now available.

City Public Works and Utilities Director Justin Pregont says that the blue, bone shaped tags can be purchased for a $10 fee from all three local veterinarians, and are required for using the park. The tag is an easy way to show that your dog is up to date on all immunizations, and can safely interact with other pets at the park.

The recently held a naming contest for the park, with Tammy Parrott and her dog Otto taking home the top prize of a $50 Chamber gift certificate for their submission of Fetch and Stretch. The name was the top choice in an online poll, and is expected to formally adopted during the next City Commission meeting.

City crews continue to make progress in constructing the park, which is expected to open before the end of the year.
