Falls City School Board Accepts Annual Audit

(KLZA)-- The Falls City Board of Education has accepted the Fiscal Year 2014-15 Audit from Julie Bauman, CPA. 

The report indicates cash on hand August 31st, 2015 of $4,398,711, which was in increase of $359,914 from the previous year. Bauman complimented the district’s accounting process and record keeping, noting there were no material weaknesses, compliance issues or deficiencies identified during the audit process.  

Board members learned the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska premium rate changes for the 2016-17 contract year will increase 4.9 percent for all active employee categories; the dental rates for option 2 will also increase 4.9 percent.

Heartland Roofing is finishing repair work on the Falls City High School this week. Seven areas were repaired at North Elementary School. Six roof drains were repaired at the High School and the gym roof was recoated with a sealer. 

The Boards Project Committee met recently to review completed projects and to begin planning the project list for 2016 and beyond.  

The F & M Bank’s coat drive in October resulted in 7 large boxes of clothing , coats, gloves and hats being donated for the Sixpence and Early Childhood Program.
