Atchison Adult Care Home Receives Award
11/11/2015

(KAIR)--The Dooley Center in Atchison is among ten adult care facilities across the state that will be recognized with the 2015 PEAK 2.0 award for sustaining person-centered care for their residents.

Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services Secretary Kari Bruffett announced the ten recipients through a news release earlier this week, congratulating the management and staff of the facilities for their effort and the excellent care they provide to their residents.

Person-centered care nursing homes have moved away from the traditional style of nursing homes, providing residents with a more home like environment in which residents have more of a say in their care.

The PEAK award has been given each year for the past ten years and has recognized nursing homes for this positive person-centered approach.
