Area of Rebar's Disappearance

photo REBAR.jpg (KNZA)--98 volunteers. That's the number of those who gave their time Wednesday for an afternoon search for the whereabouts of a missing Mayetta woman. According to a post on a Facebook page dedicated to finding Joan Rebar, the search included those on foot, some on horseback, and others on ATV's. Among those taking part in the effort were ten young Americorp members who just last weekend arrived in Holton to conduct community-based projects. The post, made by Rebar's daughter, thanks those who assisted the effort, including the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and the Kickapoo Nation, as well as Tribal Police, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office and others. Although there's no word on any findings during the search on the Prairie Band Potawatomi Reservation, a separate post indicates that a donation of $5,000 dollars has been contributed to the search effort by the Sac and Fox Nation. The 70-year-old Rebar, a resident of the reservation, was last seen September 25th at the VFW in Meriden. Five days later, a Silver Alert was issued, with Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse asking area residents to remain on the look out for Rebar, or her silver Chrysler Pacifica.
