11/02/2015

(KLZA)-- A Richardson County District Court jury has found a rural Verdon man guilty of three felony counts.

Following a three day trial last week, it took the jury nearly two hours of deliberation to find 21-year-old Phillip Doerr guilty of assault in the first degree, using a deadly weapon to commit a felony and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

The charges date back to June of 2013 when Doerr's pickup truck collided with a pickup driven by Falls City resident Timothy Wittwer of Falls City.

Doerr is free on bond and sentencing is to take place in December.

Attorney’s from the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office served as special Deputy County Attorney’s in the case.
