(KNZA)--A grand celebration of Halloween Saturday, as Hiawatha held it's 101st Halloween Frolic, under the theme “Halloween 2115-100 Years Into the Future.”
Events included the afternoon children's parade and the evening's grand parade through downtown Hiawatha.
In between, the annual Halloween Queen competition was held, with nine girls vying for the honor.
Selected from the candidates was Miss Whiting, Alexandria Bontrager, crowned as the 2015 Hiawatha Halloween Queen.
The Holton High School senior will receive a $1,000 scholarship to the college of her choice. Alexandria is the daughter of Bruce and Barbara Bontrager of Whiting.
Reba Kreider, a senior at Horton High School, was 1st runner up and will receive a $750 scholarship.
Bailey Bindle, a senior at Falls City High School, was named Miss Congeniality and will receive a $250 scholarship.
