Agreement Reached In Boldridge Murder Case
10/21/2015

(KAIR)--A re-sentencing agreement has been reached in the case of an Atchison woman convicted of taking part in her husband's murder in 2000, canceling a hearing that had been scheduled to begin on November 3rd.

The agreement between the attorneys and Kurt Boldridge's family members has Lisa Boldridge scheduled to hear her new sentence on January 19th 2016, which is after the January 12th trial date for her co defendant, Kirk Wilson.

As part of the agreement, Boldridge has agreed to provide testimony during Wilson's trial. In exchange for her testimony, it will be recommended that she be handed a sentence of life in prison with the possibility of parole after twenty five years of confinement.

Boldridge was initially handed a “Hard 50”sentence of life in prison in February 2001 after he conviction of first-degree murder in the case. Her re-sentencing is the result of the Kansas Supreme Court's ruling that “Hard 50” candidates should be sentenced by a jury and not a judge.

Kurt Boldridge was shot in the head with a shotgun in March 2000 as he slept in his rural Atchison home. His wife was one of four people who were convicted in the homicide.
