Atchison Clinic To Hold After Hours Event

(KAIR)--The Atchison Community Health Clinic, along with the Atchison Area Chamber of Commerce, will host an after hours event to celebrate the clinic's recent makeover.

Clinic spokeswoman Kathy Butler says the event will honor those who pitched in to make the building improvements possible. “We had such good help doing all this painting and cleaning our building up and the yard up. We are just trying to get all these people together to really give them a good thank you.”

Butler says the open house event will also give the public a chance to learn more about the extended services the clinic will be offering later this year, made possible by federal funding. “In December,” she says, “we will start seeing patients with insurance as well as patients without insurance. We will take anyone that happens to need medical care in our practice, and we will also have dental services three days a week, and we will have a mental health provider here twenty hours a week. These are all really new things for us. We have just really increased the service hours that we are going to be available.”

The Atchison Community Health Clinic After Hours event will take place Wednesday evening from 5:00-7:00 at the clinic, located at 1412 North Second Street. Everyone is invited to attend.
