Richardson County Public Defender Contract Renewed

(KLZA)-- Richardson County Commissioners have agreed to enter into a two-year contract for William VonSeggern to serve as Richardson County Public Defender.  The current contract will expire December 31.  

The Board approved advertising for bids for the purchase of a loader for the road department. Bids will be opened November 3rd at 111 a-m.

Sheriff Don Pounds met with Commissioners to discuss a meeting with ProServe of St. Joseph, MO. for updating the computer system and networking for the Sheriff’s Office and Jail and transfer the system to the new facility next year. The Board also approved the Sheriffs request to place gravel on the drive of the Falls City Police Department shooting range in exchange of use of the area by the Sheriff and deputies.  

Emergency Management Director Brian Dixon met via teleconference with the Board to review two purchase orders submitted. The first was costs for attendance at the International Association of Emergency Managers 2015 Conference in Las Vegas at a cost of $1,881.  The second was for antenna installation at the Barada Tower site for $10,148. The tower expense was approved by the Board.  The purchase order to attend the conference n Las Vegas was held for further review and information.
