Stolen Atchison Vehicles Recovered

 (KAIR)--Two vehicles stolen in Atchison last week have been recovered. 

Police Chief Mike Wilson says the first vehicle, a 2003 Toyota car taken from a Benedictine College parking lot last Monday, was recovered in Buchanan County, Missouri Sunday. The second vehicle, a 2005 GMC pickup truck, taken from the 2100 block of Greenview Drive Thursday, was recovered in Leavenworth on Saturday. It was during the investigation into this theft that police recovered a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Leavenworth.

Wilson says it is believed the theft of the Atchison pickup and the Leavenworth car are connected. However, it is not believed they are related to the theft of the vehicle recovered in Buchanan County.

Investigations into the thefts are ongoing.
