(KAIR)--The Atchison Boys and Girls Club has been presented with a $5,000 grant from the Amerigroup Foundation that will help to improve the well-being of youth in the area.
Executive Director Sherry Swendson says the money allows the organization to focus on promoting a healthy lifestyle to local kids. She says “we are going to spend a lot of time learning how to increase the fruit and vegetable consumption...definitely be more active during the day, that is what the grant actually is going to focus on.”
Amerigroup President Laura Hopkins said the foundation wanted to support the Boys and Girls club with the grant so that kids would have a chance to build life-long healthy habits with the foundation of support provided by the club.
