(KLZA)--A fire that destroyed a laundromat in downtown Pawnee City, Nebraska Sunday evening is under investigation.
According to a news release from Pawnee County Sheriff Jayme Reed, the sheriff’s office received several 9-1-1 calls reporting the fire at 602 G Street shortly after 7:00.
Reed said all the occupants of the two-story building escaped without injury. The upper level of the building contained apartments.
The Pawnee City Fire Department was assisted by firefighters from six other departments in fighting the blaze—including Burchard, Steinauer, DuBois, Table Rock, Tecumseh and Falls City.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, and is being investigated by the Nebraska State Fire Marshal’s office.
