Pawnee County Board Approves Budget
09/17/2015

Pawnee County Courthouse

(KLZA)-- The Pawnee County Commissioners this week conducted budget hearings.  Following a discussion with Milan Tomek on several budget questions, the Board adopted the budget for the next fiscal year with a total personal and real property tax requirement of $1,858,248.  The property tax levy will be 26.23-cents per $100 of assessed valuation.

Transfer of nearly $237,000 from the Inheritance Fund to the General Fund for the 2015-16 fiscal year was approved.

Five bids were received for a Pawnee County bridge project.  Bids ranged from $244,515 up to $443,674. Commissioners tabled the bids until the September 29th meeting so Mainelli Wagner & Associates can review all the bids.

The Board also passed a motion to accept a $30 bid submitted at public auction from The Steinauer Community Heritage House for 3 lots in Steinauer. Because the bid was not equal to market value, the surplus lots were not sold at the auction.
