(KNZA)-Three individuals are seeking to fill the unexpired term of former Brown County Clerk Debbie Parker.
The Brown County Republican Central Committee will hold a convention Thursday evening at 7:00 in the courtroom at the Brown County Courthouse to elect a replacement.
Seeking the position are current Deputy County Clerk Melissa Gormley, former county treasurer Debbie Roland and former county information technology director Shannon Scott.
The name of the person elected will be forwarded to Governor Sam Brownback for appointment to fill the term expiring in January 2017. The position is up for election in November 2016.
Parker, who had served as county clerk since 2000, died August 28th.
