(KAIR)--The Atchison Community Health Clinic building will soon receive a face lift, courtesy of a local community group.
Project Coordinator Sarah Marlatt says the group Young Atchison Making A Difference was happy to take on another project, soon after their effort to revitalize Jackson Park. She says “we were looking for another community project to get started, and as a volunteer for the Community Health Clinic, I expressed the idea to the group, and they supported it right away and just kind of ran with the idea.”
Marlatt says the group plans to do quite a bit of work at the clinic including “landscaping, painting, wallpaper removal, creating a kids corner, cleaning carpet. We are going to find and hang artwork, power washing, window treatment, and cleaning gutters are the big tasks.”
Marlatt has also expressed her passion for both the project and the community as a whole, saying “the way I feel about this community is that we are all put here to help and support one another.”
The Atchison Community Health Clinic revitalization project will take place on Saturday September 12th, starting at 7:00, though prep work will take place on several days leading up to the event.
Anyone who would like to lend a hand, is encourage to just show up on the project day.
