(KNZA)-- Doniphan County employees have been granted a pay raise for 2016.
The County Commission this week approved a 50-cent an hour pay increase for all county employees, with the exception of the Commissioners, effective January 1st, 2016.
Following a public hearing attended by several county residents, the Commission adopted the 2016 county budget as published.
The $10.5 million budget maintains the same property tax levy, which is to generate $5.4 million.
Even though the mill levy will remain the same, the county will collect an additional $415,000 in tax revenue due to a nearly $9 million increase in the county’s assessed valuation.
